Sexy Pirate Costumes

For a woman, going to a fancy dress party can be a great excuse to wear a really sexy outfit. There are quite a number of different things to choose from that can look really good. One of the largest factors which you have to consider when you are deciding on what to wear is how much self confidence you have. You do not want to make yourself stand out from the crowd if it is going to make you feel uncomfortable all evening and ultimately ruin the whole party for you. There are still plenty of outfits to choose from even if are not daring enough to wear something with a short skirt or a low-cut top. You can still manage to look really alluring without showing off your legs.

Pirate costumes for women can look very sexy and still be relatively simple. For the less confident lady, there is the option of dressing up in a man's style of outfit with some small feminine touches added to it. For example, you could wear some fairly plain-looking trousers with a wide leather belt. This will help to exaggerate your waistline and hips. Perhaps you could wear a man's shirt with the belt over the top of it? For ladies who are a bit more daring they could have the shirt unbuttoned quite low and wear a nice necklace that is in keeping with pirate costumes.

Another possibility is a nice skirt or dress worn with leather boots. Have a look at Keira Knightley in the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' movies and the style of her clothes. If you can find yourself a dress that has got a lace-up front then it will look really nice with a pair of black or brown boots even if it is long. This is the good thing about pirate costumes; there are so many different ways to dress. Again, for braver ladies that want something that is a bit more 'naughty', there is the option of a lace-up dress that is a bit too tight and a little on the short side...

Pirate costumes for women will often have very high leather boots which, when worn with something short, will guarantee to make you the centre of attention amongst the party's male guests. The only thing about these types of boots is that they can be very expensive... Fortunately there are many fancy dress outlets that hire out pirate costumes as well as selling them.

So, as you can now see, to look sexy at a fancy dress party, it is not necessary to dress up in a saucy nurse's outfit (unless of course your boyfriend likes the idea of it...). Pirate costumes are a good way to look sexy and a bit 'different from all the other guests. They can be rough or risque as you like and also from all others. Finally, what would be fun to dress for a girl to be just another girl sexy vampire or French?

Adult Pirate Costumes - You Can Make One From Your Own Closet

Homemade Halloween costumes can be a lot of fun, sometimes even more fun than one which was bought at a large department store. Adult pirate costumes may seem like they would be hard to make from scratch, but the truth is they are one of the easiest costumes to make. And they can often be made from the old clothes you already have in your closet or clothing you can find at your local discount clothing store!

Here are a few tips and tricks you can use to make your own adult pirate costumes;

The puffy pirate shirt: This may not seem like an everyday piece of clothing, but the truth is there was a time when the peasant top was quite popular. Although you may have trouble finding this essential garment in your own closet, you will have no trouble scouring one from a discount clothing store or donation shop. Oversized womens blouses work best and if the sleeves seem too flat consider rolling up the cuffs and tying it around your forearm with a piece of leather trim or twin.

The classic pirate pants: This is probably the easiest part of a homemade pirate costume. All you'll need is a pair of pants which you don't wear anymore and a pair of scissors. Simply cut the pants off just below the knee and cut strips into the legs vertically. For an even more authentic look, scuff the fabric using sand paper, and stain randomly using a teabag.

A leather vest: This may be another bargain store find, but should not be too hard to purchase. A leather vest which is in good shape may be too expensive, try to find one which is obviously torn or is made from faux leather. The imperfections will merely add to your pirate costume's authenticity.

A bandanna: Every adult pirate costume should include a bandanna or scarf to tie either around the head or waist. Pirates often used these brightly colored strips of cloth to show allegiance to their outlawed gang or sailing crew, if you are unable to find a Shawl or a scarf can cut off the bottom of an old apron.

swashbuckling boots: And finally, adult pirate costumes, a pair of all damaged and worn torn boots. Do not worry too much work on your boots, authentic, rubber rain boots, or even an old pair of Doc Martins.

Dressing like a pirate, a lot of fun, especially when it involves the hunt for the perfect costume pieces. If you are considering the purchase of an adultpirate costume this Halloween, have a long look in your closet first. You may have all you need to transform into Black Beard at your fingertips!
